The inaugural St Vincent de Paul Society NSW Good Works Summit brought together 500 Vincentians for a celebration of Society-wide impact.
Summit Recap
On Saturday 19 September, 500 Members, Volunteers, Employees and supporters gathered at Bankstown Sports Club for our second Good Works Summit, coming together to celebrate the extraordinary impact of the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW and the many ways our people are Meeting the Moment across the state.
With this year’s theme, Meeting the Moment, the Summit showcased the many ways our people are responding to the needs of their communities - through membership, services, retail and commercial enterprise, disaster recovery, spirituality and social justice.
The day was also an opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary people who bring the Society’s mission to life. More than 150 Vincentians were nominated for the 2026 Good Works Awards, with four recipients recognised for their outstanding contributions:
-
Member Contribution: Peter Brown
-
Volunteer Service: Rodney Allen
-
Collaborative Impact: Peter Doris and Isabella Watson
-
Outstanding Vincentian Service: Kerry Muir
Attendees were also treated to a performance from the Ozanam Learning Centre Music Collective (pictured), featuring performers who have been supported by our services.
We were grateful to be joined by NSW Premier Chris Minns, Dharug Elder Uncle Colin Locke, Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW Deputy Ombudsman Rosa Krilic, Australian Catholic Anti-Slavery Network Executive Officer Alison Rahill, Lived Experience Group member Sue A. and broadcaster Joe Hildebrand, who each brought their perspectives to the occasion.
The Summit was a powerful reminder of what is possible when our people come together with a shared commitment to building a more just and compassionate society.
Congratulations to all the teams who contributed to making the day such a memorable one.
