Introducing the new St Vincent de Paul - CARE Team (Community Assistance and Recovery Engagement)

We’re building a dedicated, well-trained group of members and volunteers from across NSW who can step in during disasters and major crises to provide practical support, connection, and care when it’s needed most.

Be part of something powerful in times of crisis

When disaster occurs, communities don’t just need assistance, they need people. Calm, compassionate, and ready to stand alongside them in some of their hardest moments.

That’s where the new CARE Team comes in.

We’re building a dedicated, well-trained group of members and volunteers from across NSW who can step in during disasters and major crises to provide practical support, connection, and care when it’s needed most.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a statewide team that will:

  • Support people face-to-face in Recovery Centres and beyond
  • Provide practical assistance and guidance during difficult times
  • Be a steady, compassionate presence for communities navigating loss and uncertainty

CARE Team members will receive specialised training to prepare them for this role, including trauma-informed engagement and disaster recovery concepts, ensuring you feel confident and supported when deployed.

Whether you’ve been with Vinnies for years or are new to volunteering, if you feel called to step into this space, we’d love to hear from you.
