Members Training & Development
The St Vincent de Paul Society provides a range of personal and professional learning opportunities to help you offer 'a hand up' to the people we assist. The MV Portal allows you to complete online learning (e-learning) courses at times convenient for you. Don't like online learning? You will also have opportunities to register for instructor-led courses. Contact your Conference President, Member and Community Engagement Coordinator or Volunteer Manager to see if there are face-to-face or virtual (Microsoft Teams) sessions planned.
Learning Essentials
The St. Vincent de Paul Society is committed to providing the highest standards of service, and maintaining high levels of trust with in the communities we serve. This means our members are required to complete a few compliance modules around safeguarding of children, privacy, health and safety and our Code of Conduct.
As an organisation that is committed to the Catholic Professional Safeguarding Standards, all new members must complete Safeguarding (formerly Child Safe Familiarisation) training. This ensures that the Society complies with the NSW Child Safe Standards required for all organisations that work with children and families.
Code of Conduct training translates our key values into minimum standards, which we ask members to apply in their work.
Privacy and Confidentiality training ensures the Society complies with our legal requirements regarding the privacy of both the Society and the people we assist.
Safety Induction training ensures our members stay safe while carrying out their visits and other tasks.
To access these trainings, log in to MV Portal and any outstanding training that you need to do will appear on your dashboard.
For more training support, contact your local Vinnies contact person (member community and engagement officer, coordinator, regional office staff member) to see if there are face-to-face or virtual (Microsoft Teams) sessions planned. You can also see the Events page to see upcoming virtual sessions (must be logged in to view internal events).
